The Wait is Over! I received complaints regarding visitors finding it difficult to Install the Download Oracle Developer 6i (Forms 6i & Report 6i) on Windows 10 64 bit so decided to incorporate the detailed Video Tutorial step-by-step on How to Install Oracle Developer 6i on Windows 10 / 7 / XE 64 bit. 

I have installed Oracle Developer 6i on Windows XP and Windows 7 64-bit machines and have been running this software for quite a long time and have also installed Developer 6i on client's machines using Windows XP.

One suggestion I would like to give you is that, after downloading you go for custom installation. You select all options given except Oracle Documentation and Oracle Release Notes. Try to avoid them to get it installed hassle-free.

You must stop all the relevant services before installation (This is for users who have any Oracle version already installed and the services are up and running). If somehow your installation is aborted you can start again if any problem pops up, you can clean out the registry (using the Regedit command and selecting for Oracle keyword in the registry and deleting them) or select a different home and path for installation.

Apart from Oracle Developer 6i we have preserved Oracle Database 10g & Oracle Developer 10g also for the users which are very difficult to find now. The intent is that they can save precious time and effort in searching for the same so trying my level best to reach out to as many people as I can.     Hello Muhammad. I ask you form help. I have just installed ORACLE FORMS 6i in a notebook with Windows 7. I installed with compatibility, both Forms and Reports. I got the message ORA 12154 - TNS: Could not resolve service name. Previously I had installed Oracle XE 11.2 DBMS and when installed Forms I had stopped services TNS Listener and XE. Could you help me? Many thanks in advance.

      As far as I understand your problem, If you already have some Oracle version installed earlier then you need to first clearing it from folders and registry before installing again!

      Hi,
      Oracle developer 9i is not that difficult to find even you can find Oracle Developer 6i as well. Only Oracle Developer 10g is rarely found, which triggered all this.

      You can open Registry Editor or "regedit" and search for "Oracle". Analyze and remove unwanted ones. Hopes will help!

      There are 2 steps:
      1. You have to uninstall Oracle Developer 6i. Run the step again and select customization. You will the see the installed products. Select them all and uninstall.

      2. Clear the registry. Find "Oracle Developer 6i" or "Forms 6i" for "Reports 6i". Make sure your are deleting from the right path.

      Restart the machine and you are good to go with the fresh installation.


      Hopes it will help. Soon I am releasing the video of how to install Developer 6i on Windows 10.
